Morgan Falls is located about two miles south of the city of Marquette. Of the many waterfalls in Marquette county this is one of the easier to visit, especially if you have four wheel drive. The waterfall is located at the confluence of Morgan Creek and the Carp River. The creek cascades down 20 feet to join up with the Carp.
To reach the falls head south from Marquette on M-553. If you are on US-41 west of Marquette, S McClellean Ave will take you to M-553. From M-28 south of Marquette, Division/M-554 will take you to M-553. Turn right onto a dirt road just before crossing the Carp River. The is Marquette Mt Road, but there is no sign. If you reach the Marquette Mountain Ski Lodge you have gone too far. But they have a nice big parking lot you can turn around in, and the road to the falls will then be the first left. The road to the falls is a beat up dirt road, and the falls are about 1.5 miles west of M-553. A regular car should be able to make it, but it is not a bad walk and a real nice bike ride. There is a small parking area on the left from which you can see the creek. If you reach a wooden bridge, you have gone too far. The falls are a stone’s throw from the parking area.
There is some disagreement about the name of this falls. According to some Morgan Falls is actually a cascade further upstream, and this is just an unnamed waterfall. This is the more distinctive and photogenic of the two features.
