The Michigan Brewers Guild, founded in 1997, represents approximately 300 brewers. The Guild is a beer community dedicated to outstanding artisanship, bold character, enjoyment, accountability, and pushing the envelope. The Guild aims to promote and defend the Michigan beer industry, with a long-term goal of helping locally made beer account for 20% of all beer sales by 2025. Since 2008, the Michigan Brewers Guild has hosted the annual Upper Peninsula Fall Beer Festival. Members get first dibs on tickets to the festival. The U.P. beer fest does not allow pets, children, or anybody under 21. The festival’s program, venue, performer information, show time/schedule of activities, tickets, how to get there, parking, and other details may be found in the “Event Related Information” part of the U.P. beer fest online website. Mattson Lower Harbor Park is a large grassy park in Marquette’s Lower Harbor, immediately north of the docks.
